Jaeger, The Missing Beachwood Dog, Has Been Found Safe

Jaeger was found in the woods Sunday afternoon off Pinewald Road.

BEACHWOOD, NJ - Jaeger the missing Beachwood boxer was found today safe and sound, thanks to team effort by number of dedicated volunteers and an alert couple, said Matt Geissinger, one of the co-founders of Lost Dog Search & Rescue.

"This afternoon at about 3 p.m. I received a call from a lovely and caring family that saw Jaeger's story on the Berkeley Patch," he said. "While driving down Pinewald Road they saw Jaeger on the side of the road eating out of a discarded Wawa container and when the stopped their car, Jaeger ran back into the woods."

The couple has a boxer of their own and knew that Jaeger might be skittish. They called Geissinger to let him know they had seen the dog. He asked them to stay at the location until he and Jaeger's owner could meet them at the location.

"We noticed it was heavily covered in thorn bushes and I knew Jaeger could not have gone far," Geissinger said. "I asked only the owner and preferably the children go into the area and sure as the day is long the children popped out just a minute later with Jaeger in tow."

Geissinger credited the Lost Dog Search & Rescue Group, John Martinez, Victoria Gerlach, the H-K9 Search and Rescue Lost Dog Recovery, the couple that made the call, Jaeger's owner, Jennifer Sloboda Fusco and the Berkeley Patch for bringing the dog home.
