Juvenile Severely Injured When Dirt Bike Collides With Chevy Blazer In Berkeley

Boy was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center after accident at Johnson's Pit, police chief says

A juvenile who was riding a dirt bike in the area behind Route 9 known as "Johnson's Pit" suffered severe trauma after he collided with a 1993 Chevy Blazer collided on Sunday afternoon, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

The boy was airlifted to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, the chief said.

The accident is under investigation by the Berkeley police department's traffic bureau, the Ocean County Prosecutor's Office and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department, she said.
