Louis Cassella, Korean Army Veteran, Dies At 87

Services for Bayville resident will be held on Sunday and Monday

Louis Cassella of Bayville died on Thursday August 10, 2017. He was 87.

He was born in Briten, Connecticut and lived in Newark before he moved to Bayville in 1965.

Louis retired from Ciba-Geigy as a mason in Toms River after 35 years of service. After retirement, he worked for Weatherford in Forked River for 10 years.

He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.

Louis was a Life Member of the American Legion Post 129 and VFW Post 6063 in Toms River.He served as an usher at St. Barnabas R.C. Church in Bayville for over 40 years.

Louis was predeceased by his wife Clotilda in 2010.

Surviving are his son Edmund and his wife Nora; his daughter Pam Martorina; brother Anthony; his four grandchildren, Anthony, Christopher, Jimmy and Olivia. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and godchildren.

Visitation will be from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday and on Monday at 8 a.m. to 9 a.m. on Monday at the Carmona-Bolen Funeral Home at 412 Main Street in Toms River. A funeral Mass will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Monday at St. Barnabas R.C. Church in Bayville, followed by burial at the B.G.W.C.D. Veteran's Cemetery in Arneytown.
