Man Attacked In Holiday City Home, Police Chief Says

Several suspects fled the Fort De France Avenue home after the incident, items missing

BERKELEY TOWNSHIP, NJ - Berkeley police and the Ocean County Sheriff's Department are investigating a robbery on Thursday morning in Holiday City where the homeowner was beaten, Police Chief Karin T. DiMichele said.

Police responded to a Fort De France Avenue home at 7:50 a.m on a report of a robbery.

The victim told police that he found several men in his house when he arrived home early that morning. A fight began and the victim was struck in the head. The suspect fled the scene and the victim was treated for minor injuries, DiMichele said.

Items were also reported stolen from the home, the chief said.

At this time the investigation is active and ongoing. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Berkeley Township Detective Bureau at 732-341-1132 ext. 611. Tips can be anonymous.
