This spot offers Italian hot dogs, dirty water dogs, rippers and even baskets, which have no bread. A variety of dogs to choose from alongside toppings and sides. Dewey's Dogs also recently joined DoorDash, so those in the area don't even need to leave their house to enjoy one of these treats.
Surf City Dog House (1521 Long Beach Blvd., Surf City)
If you want to go beyond your average dog, you have to visit this new Long Beach Island eatery, which proudly boasts being "LBI's only hot dog shop." Keep it classic with an all-beef dog, or try Hawaiian style. A whole bun is put on hot, metal spike, which toasts it. Toppings are added before the hot dog itself slides in - creating a different hot dog experience.
Dicky's Dogs (332 Atlantic City Blvd., South Toms River)
Fans love their footlong Italian hot dogs and chili dogs. But don't skip their special Colombian dog. It's topped with cheddar cheese, pink sauce, pineapple sauce, crushed chips, salted onion and mustard. The Colombian twist on the menu makes this spot truly one-of-a-kind.
Der Wunder Wiener (108 Atlantic City Blvd., Bayville)
Despite being out of commission for a few years following a car crash, this iconic hot dog cart still manages to serve up some of Ocean County's favorite Italian hot dogs on a daily basis. Their regular hot dogs and sausages are popular, too. It's been a staple of Bayville for about 40 years.
