New Principal Appointed At Central Regional High School
Central Regional's assistant principal, Irene Marousis, will become the high school's new principal this upcoming school year.

BERKELEY, NJ — Irene Marousis was appointed as Central Regional High School's newest principal.
Marousis has worked at Central Regional since 2015 as an assistant principal, supervising the science and music departments.
“I am honored to serve the Central Regional school community as the high school principal. With our dedicated team we are committed to providing our students a comprehensive education to ensure their future success,” Marousis told Patch. “With the unwavering support of all our sending districts and the Board of Education, we are prepared to successfully navigate the current challenges this upcoming school year.”

Former principal Doug Corbett was appointed as Central Regional's assistant superintendent of human resource technology and personnel.
Marousis was recommended for the position by Superintendent Triantafillos Parlapanides and the Board of Education made the appointment at their July 15 meeting.

She holds a bachelor's degree in education and history from Georgian Court University, and a master's degree in educational leadership from the University of Scranton.
Marousis first began her career in the state Department of Corrections as a teacher in 1998. She worked in the East Orange School District for 13 years before she arrived at Central Regional in 2015.
“It’s an honor to have her as our new principal in the school. Her personality and the way she gets along with all the students — they all love her,” said board of education president Lou Tuminaro. “She will get results in the district. She’ll make great things happen.”
