Ocean County Beach Report: Choppy Surf, Low Rip Current Risk On Tap For Today
The National Weather Service is calling for waves of 4 to 5 feet high on Ocean County beaches.

Highs at Ocean County beaches will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the northwest at 5 to 10 miles per hour.
The lightning threat is moderate, which means thunderstorms are possible. The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers high.

There's a low risk of rip currents today. But rips are still possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water.
Waves will be choppy, at 4 to 5 feet high, with southerly swells of 2 to 3 feet. The ocean water temperature is 77 degrees.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 9:33 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 3:50 p.m, followed by another high tide at 9:50 p.m.
