Ocean County Beach Report: Choppy Surf, Moderate Rip Current Risk On Tap For Today
Wave heights of six feet are predicted.

For the first time in more than a week, the rip current risk has dropped from high to moderate.
That doesn't mean you should let down your guard. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. There are very few guarded beaches at this time of the year. If you can find one, check with the local beach patrol before going in.
Remember, many people have died this summer on Ocean County beaches because they went swimming when conditions were dangerous. An Asbury Park woman earlier this week after she became trapped in a rip current.

Wave heights will be 6 feet today, with easterly swells of 4 to 5 feet. The ocean water temperature is 70 degrees.
Skies will be mostly sunny, with a high around 80 degrees. Winds will be from the north at 10 miles per hour.

The ultraviolet index is a 6, which the NWS considers high. There is no lightning threat.
High tide at Barnegat Inlet will roll in at 10:33 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:56 p.m., followed by another high tide at 1:52 p.m.
