Ocean County Beach Report: A Cloudy Start To Labor Day Weekend

There's a moderate risk of rip currents and possible thunderstorms on tap for today.

The National Weather Service is calling for a cloudy beginning to Labor Day weekend, with cool temperatures and a chance of showers.

The high today will only be about 70 degrees. The ocean water temperature will actually be warmer than the air at 72 degrees.

The rip current risk is still moderate, which means you must find a guarded beach and check with the local beach patrol before going in. Never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you when you go swimming.
