Ocean County Beach Report: Jose Continues To Churn Ocean Waters, High Rip Current Risk

Waves of 4 to 6 feet are expected, coastal flood advisory remains in effect.

The remnants of Hurricane Jose will continue to impact Ocean County beaches, with dangerous rip currents and wave heights up to 6 feet, the National Weather Service says.

The high rip current risk means life-threatening and dangerous rip currents are present. No one should be swimming, especially since most beaches are unguarded at this time of year. Waves will be from 4 to 6 feet, with easterly swells of 5 to 6 feet. The ocean water temperature is 70 degrees.

Jose is slowly moving away from New Jersey, but rough surf, intense rip currents and extensive beach erosion will continue for the next several days.
