Ocean County Beach Report: Sunny Skies, High Rip Current Risk
The National Weather Service is calling for waves of 6 to 8 feet today.

Skies today on Ocean County beaches will be sunny, but waves of 6 to 8 feet are expected, the National Weather Service says.
"Dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions exist for all people entering the surf," the NWS sys.
Waves of 6 to 8 feet are expected, with southeast swells of 6 to 7 feet, thanks to Tropical Storm Maria. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.

There are very few beaches open on weekdays this late in the season, so please stay out of the water. Too many people have died this summer because they swam on an unguarded beach. Never swim on an unguarded beach or alone or at night.
Skies will start out partly sunny until 11 a.m. gradually becoming sunny. Highs will be in the upper 70s. Winds will be from the north at 20 miles per hour.

The ultraviolet index today is a 6, which the National Weather Service considers high. There is no lightning threat.
Low tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 8:19 a.m. High tide will arrive at 2:29 p.m., followed by another low tide at 9:11 a.m.
Patch will continue to publish beach weather reports until Sept. 30, when the National Weather Service stops for the season.
