The National Weather Service says there's a moderate chance of rips today as remnants of tropical storm move out to sea

The National Weather Service is calling for mostly sunny skies with a lower chance of rip currents today.
But waves will still be high, from 4 to 6 feet, with easterly swells of three feet. The ocean water temperature is 74 degrees. There's a slight chance of showers with isolated thunderstorms.

Highs today will be in the lower 80s. Winds will be from the west at 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is a 7, which the NWS considers high. The lightning threat is low.
So take advantage of the sun while you can. It looks like Saturday will be a washout.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet will roll in at 9:58 a.m. High tide will arrive at 4:11 p.m., followed by another low tide at 10:45 p.m.
