Ocean County Beaches: Dangerous, Life-Threatening Conditions Forecast For Today
The National Weather Service is calling for waves of 4 to six feet, with easterly swells of 5 to 6 feet

Red flags will be flying at beaches up and down Ocean County beaches today, due to the remnants of a tropical storm lurking off the New Jersey coast.
The National Weather Service is warning of a high risk of rip currents. That means dangerous and potentially life-threatening conditions exist for anyone who goes in the water.
"People visiting the beaches should stay out of the high surf," the NWS says

The water will be turbulent, with waves from 4 to 6 feet, with easterly swells of 5 to 6 feet. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.
Skies will start out mostly cloudy, gradually becoming mostly sunny later in the day. Highs will be only in the mid-70s. Winds will be from the north at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index has bounced back up to a 7. There is no lightning threat today.

Low tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 9:05 a.m. High tide will arrive at 3:18 p..m, followed by another high tide at 9:53 p.m.
