Ocean Gate Police Charge Jackson Man With Theft Of High-End Bicycles

David Ford, 39, had listed the bikes for sale on Craiglist, police say

OCEAN GATE, NJ - Ocean Gate police recently charged a Jackson man with the theft and burglary of several high-end bicycles after they found them for sale on Craigslist, Lt. Michael Kuchta said.

Police had received reports of several bikes stolen from Ocean Gate homes. After an investigation, Ocean Gate Sgt. LaRocca and Patrolman Steven Shan found the bikes listed for sale.

Sgt. LaRocca and Patrolman Steven Shan along with the help of Berkeley Det Sgt. Peter LaRocca and the Berkeley Detective Bureau set up an undercover operation to purchase the bicycles from the man.

The bikes were identified at a home in Ocean Gate. Police arrested David Ford, 39, Luxury Circle. Ford was charged with theft and burglary and taken to the Ocean County Jail in Toms River. in accordance with the state Bail Reform Act, Kuchta said.
