Pickleball Comes To Berkeley Township

Great news for pickleball lovers: you can now play this popular sport with three brand-new courts in Berkeley.

BERKELEY, NJ — Calling all pickleball lovers in Berkeley Township! Three new courts have just opened up at Veterans Park.

Mayor Carmen Amato and the Township Council announced the news in a Facebook post, with photos of the brand new courts. These courts have been in the works for the past few months and now are open for public use.

In case you've somehow missed the craze known as pickleball, it's a sport that uses ping-pong like paddles to hit a Wiffleball-like ball over a tennis-like net on a badminton-like court. Pickleball is constantly growing in popularity, especially in New Jersey, and courts like the three new ones here in Berkeley are always in high demand.

The courts will be open from dawn to dusk and are located near the basketball courts. Veterans Park is located at 489 Forest Hills Parkway in Bayville.
