Popular Seaside Heights Beach Patrol Lifeguard Brian M. Kurinzi Of Toms River Dies At 20

That's the last line in the gofundme page for popular Seaside Heights Beach Patrol Lifeguard Brian Kurinzi, who died on March 8 at Community Medical Center in Toms River.

Brian was born in Staten Island and lived in Toms River. He was a graduate of Toms River High School North and a five-year member of the beach patrol, according to his obituary.

Brian was an avid soccer player and enjoyed snowboarding. He was predeceased by his maternal grandparents Joseph and Toby Taylor. Surviving are his parents Michele Taylor of Toms River, NJ and Michael Kurinzi of Myrtle Beach, SC; his siblings Shawn and Taylor Kurinzi both of Toms River, NJ and many loving cousins and friends.

Family will receive friends from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday at the Timothy E. Ryan Home for Funerals 995 Fischer Boulevard in Toms River A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Joseph R.C. Church in Toms River.

A Gofundme page has been set up for Brian, with the goal of raising $20,000 to help defray medical costs. As of Friday morning, $11,140 has been raised.

"Brian chose to be an organ donor," the post reads. "Our family is grieving. Although he may not be with us he has saved others lives.The funds raised will go towards insurmountable costs that are incurred during and due to the loss of a loved one. Our family is still unable to believe that this has happened, and feel as though this is all a nightmare. We ask for all of your prayers, love, and support at this time."
