Power Outages Reported In Much Of Ocean County, 24,000 Customers Affected
Problem is affecting Lacey, Barnegat, Berkeley and Waretown, JCP&L spokesman says problem is with the Oyster Creek substation..

A problem with the Oyster Creek substation in Lacey Township has led to more than 24,000 power outages in Lacey, Barnegat, Waretown and Berkeley Township, a JCP&L spokesman said.
Crews are on their way to the substation now to determine what the problem is, JCP&L spokesman Scott Takac said.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Department asks that residents do not dial 911 to report the outages. Instead, please call 800-66-3115. The outages are affecting traffic lights.

Takac reports that more 24,000 customer are affected, with 10, 517 in Lacey Township, 7,867 in Barnegat, and 5,002 in Ocean Township. There are 690 customers affected in Berkeley Township.
