Kia Phua, a local father and mayoral candidate, will serve as Cubmaster. He recently met with Bill Dondero, VFW Post 9503 Commander, Bob Petry, Scoutmaster, Troop 9503, and Sam Pinkava, District Executive from the Jersey Shore Council of Boy Scouts of America to discuss the scouts.
Dondero "graciously accepted" the pack as the chartered organization, according to Phua.

Phua mentioned restarting the pack when he announced his candidacy for the Berkeley mayoral race.
"In a township, with hundreds of children attending the four elementary schools in town, the children of our community deserve to have a program available like the Cub Scouts," Phua said at the time. "We have children participating in Cub Scouts in our neighboring towns in Lacey and Beachwood, but we need our own program in town where other children can participate in as well."
Cub Scouts is open to all children from kindergarten to fifth grade.
If you're interested in being a part of the Pack 27, head to the open house on May 4 at 6:30 p.m. located at 383 Veterans Blvd., Bayville.
