BERKELEY, NJ — Look out for reptiles, learn about birds or take a guided walk with a village historian during events at Double Trouble State Park in July.
Registration is required for all events at DoubleTrouble.Eventbrite. Here's what is planned:
Guided Village Tour: July 2, 3, 4, 11, 18, 24

A village historian will give a guided tour of historic Double Trouble Village. See inside the century old sawmill and packing house as you hear stories of this former company town.
The walking tour will cover about 1/4 mile and starts at 10 a.m. outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area.

Weekday Walk: July 5, 9, 12, 16, 19, 30
A 1.5 to 2-mile guided walk on the trails around the Double Trouble Historic District for scenic views, park history and nature education.
The walk starts at 10 a.m. outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area. Well-behaved dogs on a leash (6’ max) are permitted.
Plant Search Walk: July 10
A 1.5 to 2-mile guided walk with an emphasis on local plants and their habitats.
Walks will start at 10 a.m. outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area. Bring your cameras.
Reptile Highlight Walk: July 17
A 1.5 to 2-mile walk along the trails with a focus on snake and turtle habitats and education on those animals. Walk will start at 10 a.m. outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area.
Bird Watch Walk: July 31
A 1.5 to 2-mile guided walk with an emphasis on the birds of the season and their habitats. Walks will start at 10:00 am outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area. Bring your cameras or binoculars.
Events will only be canceled due to heavy rain or thunder. Face coverings are required to go inside the buildings.
