With fall in full swing, Double Trouble State Park has a new schedule of events for people to learn about nature and enjoy the fall foliage:

BERKELEY, NJ — With fall in full swing Double Trouble State Park has announced a new schedule of October events for people to learn about nature and enjoy the fall foliage.

Registration is required for all events at DoubleTrouble.Eventbrite. Events will only be canceled due to heavy rain or thunder. Face coverings are required to go inside buildings.

Double Trouble State Park is home to a mix of evergreens that stay green year-round and deciduous trees, whose leaves turn color before they fall. At Double Trouble State Park, peak foliage usually occurs in mid to late October.

Guided Village Tour: Oct. 1, 2, 4, 9, 11, 15, 16, 18, 22, 25, 29

A village historian will give a guided tour of historic Double Trouble Village. See inside the century old sawmill and packing house while hearing stories of this former company town.

The walking tour will cover about 1/4 mile and starts at 10 a.m. outside the white restroom building just past the map kiosk in the parking area.

Sunday Saunter: Oct. 3, 10, 17, 24

Take a 2-mile guided walk on the trails around the Double Trouble Historic District for scenic views, park history and nature education.

Pinelands Storytime: Oct. 30

Hear pinelands folklore told from the porch of a century-old cranberry packing house. Attendees should bring a blanket or chair. The stories are for all ages.
