Southern Regional, Central Regional Teachers Make Top Ten List Of Highest Teacher Salaries in Jersey Shore Area
Asbury Park Press report details school districts with highest teacher salaries in the Jersey Shore region.

Teachers in the Southern Regional and the Central Regional high school districts are among the highest paid in the Jersey Shore region, according to a report compiled by the Asbury Park Press.
The report listed the top ten districts in the Ocean-Monmouth area with the highest average teacher salaries. Southern Regional came in number 2, with an average salary of $80,592. The district serves 2,853 students from grades 7 through 12. Southern Regional accepts students from Stafford Township, Long Beach Township, Beach Haven, Barnegat Light, Harvey Cedars and Waretown.
The Central Regional school district also made the top ten, coming in at 10th place. The average teacher salary in the Central Regional district is $73,868, according to the report.

The report examined state data on teachers' pay. Fourteen of the 83 school districts in Monmouth and Ocean counties pay more than the state average of $72,556. The report used data from the state Department of Education for the school year 2016-2017.
Central Regional serves 2,014 students from grades 7 through 12. The districts includes students from Berkeley Township, Island Heights, Ocean Gate, Seaside Heights and Seaside Park.
