A Spooky Moonlit Hike At Island Beach State Park Coming Up

Hike in the maritime forest, bonfire on the beach and s'mores.

The Friends Of Island Beach State Park are holding their first Moonlight Hike of 2017 from 6 p.m. until 9 p.m. on March 11, if the weather cooperates.

The free hike begins at the park's Interpretive Center and continue on the trail through the maritime forest. It will feature spooky sea tales, a bonfire on the beach and s'mores.

Spirits have been felt and reportedly observed at the old Coast Guard building where the maintenance facility is located now.
