Sunny Skies, Calmer Seas Make For A Great Beach Day

Got some time off? Take advantage of Ocean County's beautiful beaches today. There's only a finite amount of summer days left.

The National Weather Service is calling for sunny skies with a high in the upper 70s. Winds will be from the north at 5 miles per hour, becoming southeast in the afternoon.

The rip current risk is low, but rips are always possible, especially near jetties and other structures. Never swim on an unguarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggests you bring a flotation device with you in the water. The ocean water temperature is 73 degrees.

The ultraviolet index is an 8, which the NWS considers high, so bring the sunscreen.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet will roll in at 10:07 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 4:23 p.m., followed by another high tide at 10:23 p.m.
