Sunny Skies, But Rip Current Risk Rises At Ocean County Beaches

Check with local beach patrols before you go in the water, National Weather Service says

Skies today at Ocean County beaches will be mostly sunny, but there's a moderate risk of rip currents, the National Weather Service says.

Check with your local beach patrol about surf conditions before going in the water. Always swim on a guarded beach and never swim alone or at night. The NWS suggest you bring a flotation device with you when you go in.

Waves will be from two to three feet high, with southeasterly swells of around two feet. The ocean water temperature is 75 degrees.

The air temperature will hover in the low 80s. Winds will be from the south at 10 miles per hour. The ultraviolet index is a nine, so bring the sunscreen. There is no lightning threat today.

High tide at Barnegat Inlet rolled in at 6:03 a.m. Low tide will arrive at 12:07 p.m., followed by another high tide at 6:21 p.m.
