Trash, Recycling Delayed In Berkeley Amid Winter Storm

BERKELEY, NJ — Trash and recycling will be delayed in Berkeley as winter weather prepares to hit New Jersey.

Public Works Director Shawn Thomas shared Tuesday afternoon that Wednesday's trash and recycling pickup would be delayed to Thursday. The township is expected to get 2 to 4 inches of snow Tuesday night into Wednesday morning.

"Please be advised this may also impact Thursday's schedule," Thomas said. "We respectfully request that you refrain from placing your trash out tonight for pick up and we apologize for any inconvenience."

Mayor John Bacchione shared a video asking residents to not park their vehicles on the roads so plows can get through.

"Berkeley Township Police and Public Works are on standby, and snowplowing operations are set to begin overnight," Bacchione said.
