Trump Supporter March Slated For Saturday In Seaside Heights

Borough officials originally turned down the request by MAGA (Make America Great Again" to hold the event.

SEASIDE HEIGHTS - Borough officials at first nixed a request by MAGA - Make America Great Again - to hold a private rally by Trump supporters on Saturday, according to a press release from the borough administrator.

Mayor Anthony Vaz at first denied the request and asked the organization to hold the event in another location, Administrator Christopher Vaz (Vaz's son) said.

But Borough Council members reluctantly approved the request after the borough attorney reviewed constitutional law requirements and advised council members the denial could result in litigation.

The “MagaMarch” rally/parade is scheduled to be held on the boardwalk on March 25

"MagaMarch representatives declined to consider an alternate location declaring that the event is protected by the principles of free speech and freedom of assembly,” Vaz said in the release.

"Therefore, the event was approved and our goal right now is to assure the safety of participants, bystanders and boardwalk visitors," he said.

Police Chief Thomas Boyd is working with "public safety partners" to make sure there are adequate resources to handle the event, Vaz said

Rally participants must stay on the east side of the boardwalk and keep the west side clear for visitors who are not participating in the event.

In addition, marchers and rally participants cannot block the entrances or exits of any boardwalk businesses, facilities for fire hydrants. Use of the Franklin Avenue stage is not permited.
