Diane started her new job at Hackensack Meridian Health in the winter of 2022. During her first couple of weeks, she walked through the Radiation Oncology department at Hackensack Meridian Ocean University Medical Center, where a brochure on non-invasive skin cancer treatments caught her eye. Knowing her family history with skin cancer, Diane saved that brochure on radiation therapy (Leipzig) to have as a resource for herself and family members.
After experiencing multiple biopsies of bumps on her face that following year, she did in fact show signs of basal cell carcinoma. This brochure is what Diane turned to for help - and the article on brachytherapy caught her attention.
After meeting with Prashant Desai, M.D. at Ocean University Medical Center, he shared the great news that Diane was, in fact, a candidate for the Leipzig treatment.
