Route 70 Fully Reopened In Brick After Crash Cleanup

The crash brought down a utility pole and wires and knocked out power to more than 900 homes.

BRICK, NJ — Route 70 has reopened in Brick Township Tuesday afternoon, several hours after a crash that brought down at least one utility pole and wires, authorities said.

Authorities have not yet released details on the crash that led to the road being closed between Route 88 and Brick Boulevard before 5 a.m.

Access was partially restored by about 9 a.m., with the westbound lanes reopened, along with two eastbound lanes. But the road was closed in both directions again in the afternoon for about 30 minutes, police said.
