BRICK and POINT PLEASANT, NJ — Police in Brick and Point Pleasant are urging drivers to avoid Route 88 east and Route 70 on Monday morning following a pair of crashes. Brick police said Route 88 is closed in both directions between Burnt Bridge Avenue, near Colonial Funeral Home, and Jordan Road because of a crash at Jordan Road. Point Pleasant police sent an alert about a crash on Route 70 at Bridge Avenue. Brick police said Route 70 is closed eastbound because of the crash but westbound traffic lanes are open. Both closures are until further notice, police said. Information on injuries was not immediately available.
