BRICK, NJ — Burnt Tavern Road is closed in both directions between Route 70 and Maple Avenue on Tuesday afternoon due to emergency road work, Brick Township police said. The closure is expected to last until about 8 p.m., authorities said. Brick police said the closure was for emergency infrastructure work; Point Pleasant police, in an alert, defined it as utility work. Drivers should take alternate routes, police said.
