Funeral Services Set For Ocean County Sheriff's Officer
Brian D. Stockhoff will be honored with a procession from the funeral home to the Ocean County Police Academy on Saturday morning.

BRICK, NJ — Funeral services have been set for Friday and Saturday for Ocean County Sheriff's Officer Brian D. Stockhoff, who died Monday in a crash.
Visitation will be 3 p.m. to 8 p.m Friday at Colonial Funeral Home in Brick, and the funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home for Stockhoff, who was born in Illinois and moved to the Jersey Shore with his family when he was 9 years old, according to his obituary on the Colonial Funeral Home website.
The Ocean County Sheriff's Office said there will be a procession from the funeral home, on Route 88 in Brick, to the Ocean County Police Academy at Ocean County Park in Lakewood following the funeral service Saturday morning.

In addition to his work starting the Mounted Unit for the Ocean County Sheriff's Office, Stockhoff was a U.S. Army veteran and served two years in Iraq, and continued to serve as an Army reservist. He attended the University of South Florida before he was deployed to Iraq, and earned his associate's degree at Ocean County College in 2006. He was a member of the 89th class of the Ocean County Police Academy, where he earned the Leadership Award. He was secretary of the Ocean County Sheriff's PBA Local 379, according to his obituary.
He was an avid sports fan and rooted hard for the New York Yankees and the San Francisco 49ers, and enjoyed kayaking and horseback riding, along with golfing with friends.

"His love of sports inspired his children to participate in baseball and football where he also coached for the local teams," his obituary said.
Stockhoff lived in Bay Head growing up, and later lived in Brick before moving to Jackson in 2013, his obituary said.
He is survived by his wife, Heather Rose Stockhoff, and their two children, Brody and Madison; his parents, Robert and Christine Stockhoff of Bay Head, and his four brothers, Clifton Stockhoff of Colorado, Stephen Stockhoff and his wife Maren of Point Pleasant, Kevin Stockhoff and his wife Lisa of Point Pleasant, and Wiggy Stockhoff and his wife Kim of Bay Head, along with many nieces and nephews.
