Girls With Game - Brick Little League Introduces New Program for Girls

For the 1st Time in the League's 40+ Year History BLL will offer Little League Affiliated Girls Softball for ages 9-12

Brick, NJ – Girls Youth Softball is on the rise both locally and around the country and Brick Little League is right at the center of it by starting a Little League affiliated recreational Girls Softball.

This past year Brick Little League along with Brick Mayor Lisa Crate and members of the Township Council celebrated 50+ years of girls playing Little League Baseball during held at Brick Little League's Opening Day Ceremonies and now the League is excited to announce that they will introduce a Girls Softball Program for Girls ages 9-12 that reside in Brick Twp.

Also, Mayor Lisa Crate was recognized as the First Elected Female Mayor of Brick Twp and was presented a Plaque and a bouquet of Flowers from the League’s Girl Players and Volunteers during the 2024 Brick Little League Opening Day Ceremony.

This new Program for Girls will be offered by Brick Little League and will be played at the Softball Field at Herbertsville Park, Toms River Little League and Jackson-Holbrook Little League, with indoor practices held at Brick Little League. At the conclusion of the recreation season the League will be forming 2 All Star Teams that will compete in Little League sanctioned All Star Tournaments starting in NJ District 18 and can go as far as a NJ Section, NJ State, East Region and even a Little League World Series Softball Tournament in Grenville, NC.

The Brick Township Recreation Department will continue to run its successful Brick Girls Softball Program for Girls in Grades 2 through 12.

“We have a lot of Girls that play in our Tee Ball and Coach Pitch Divisions which go up to age 8, and then we have seen a drop off in participation with Girls when they go up to our Minors and Majors Divisions starting at 9.” New Brick Little League President Steve Gogal said “now with this new program the League will be able to give the girls the same Little League experience the boys get including the chance to raise All Star Tournament Championship Banners. We wanted to thank the Mayor Lisa Crate, the Brick Twp Recreation Dept and Committee, and everyone at the Township of Brick who helped support this new Program as part of our League.”
