Princeton Avenue Closure Beginning In Brick

An MUA construction project is resulting in a full closure 24 hours a day; detours will be in place, police said.

BRICK, NJ — Princeton Avenue will be closed around the clock beginning Monday morning for a construction project in front of the Ocean County Pump Station, Brick Township police said.

The closure will be from Parker Avenue to Midstreams/Jordan Road and will be in place for up to 14 working days, police said.

All traffic will be detoured to Jordan Road, Route 88, Bridge Avenue in Point Pleasant, and Beaver Dam Road, police said.

"Under no circumstances will vehicles be able to drive through this work area," police said. "This includes local residents, delivery drivers, pedestrians, bicyclists, public transportation, garbage and recycling trucks, and school transportation."

"Only emergency vehicles will have access through the work area during the closure," police said.

Residents who live east of the closures will have to use Beaver Dam Road to enter and exit the area until the construction project is finished.

The project, a joint effort of the Ocean County Utilities and Brick Township MUA, is being done by C J Hesse.
