Parts of Brick Boulevard, Drum Point Road and Hooper Avenue are closed due to the outage, Brick police said.

BRICK, NJ — Emergency utility work on Hooper Avenue is continuing Monday afternoon to repair a downed power line that has led to a wider power outage affecting traffic lights in the area, police said.
Traffic signals are out on Brick Boulevard in the area of Drum Point Road and Pinetree Drive, and Hooper Avenue remains closed just south of Drum Point Road, between Atrium Drive and Old Silverton Road, police said.
There were nearly 1,700 homes and businesses without electric service as of 12:30 p.m. according to the Jersey Central Power & Light website, which showed parts of Lake Riviera and Cherry Quay affected, along with the local shopping centers.

It attributed the outage to storm damage, but JCP&L spokesman Christopher Hoenig said the issue is a downed power line. He did not know why it was listed as storm damage by the website.
The computer estimate for restoration was 2 p.m.
