SOMERSET COUNTY, NJ — Somerset County Sheriff's Office is increasing enforcement at local houses of worship following the mass shooting during a Hanukkah celebration in Australia over the weekend.

The Sheriff’s Office said on Monday that they will increase vigilance at critical locations and houses of worship during the holidays.

"Sheriff Darrin Russo and all of us in the Somerset County Sheriff’s Office will work tirelessly to make sure that hate has no home in Somerset County!" said the Somerset County Sheriff's Office.

A father and son duo are suspected of killing 15 people on Bondi Beach, one of the world's most popular tourist beach attractions, The Associated Press reported.

The father, a 50-year-old who was killed, arrived in Australia in 1998 on a student visa and was an Australian resident, the outlet reported.

His son, a 24-year-old Australian, is being treated at a hospital after being shot and wounded, according to the outlet.
