Standoff At Bridgewater Twp. Home Results in No Charges, Cops Say
Resident taken into custody after making threats at local hospital, police say.

A Bridgewater Township man was taken into custody Wednesday after police say he made threats while at a hospital and locked himself inside his home upon leaving the medical center.
Around 2 p.m. on Nov. 11 a resident of Finderne Avenue made threats at the Robert Wood Johnson Hospital in Somerset, Lt. Michael Maxwell said. The man then left the hospital and returned to his home.
Members of the Bridgewater and Somerville Police departments responded to his residence to make contact with him, Maxwell said.

“Due to the nature of the threats that were made, and the failure of the subject to maintain communications with the officers at the scene, members of the Somerset County Prosecutor’s Office SCERT team were activated,” Maxwell said.
After SCERT’s arrival the man exited his residence and was taken into custody without incident.
