Chatham Boy Scouts, Venture Crew Set For Car Wash

CHATHAM, NJ—Two troops of scouts will gather at the Gloria Dei Lutheran Church on Saturday for a fund-raising car wash.

Most of the 15 Boy Scouts from Troop 28, plus several leaders, will participate in the event, which will take place between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Venture Crew 28, made up of 11 high school students and 5 leaders, will also participate.

"Venturing is an inclusive program through the Boy Scouts of America for males and females aged 14-20 (or 13 and completed the 8th grade)," said the Boy Scouts of America's website. "It’s operated through Venturing Crews, units of youth and advisors that meet on set schedules and plan activities and events."

Gloria Dei is located at at 300 Shunpike Rd. Car washes are $10, Vans and SUVs are $15. The money raised will likely be put towards new equipment that the scout troops will be able to share.
