JCP&L: Less Than Five Without Power In Chatham

The utility said it was now focused on repairing individual outages

CHATHAM—The number of homes and businesses without power in Chatham decreased considerably in the last day, with the township reporting less than five outages Monday night.

"Utility crews are addressing many localized issues and restoring individual customers," a statement from Jersey Central Power & Light said. "This requires crews to travel to individual locations to restore about 2,800 JCP&L customers [statewide] who remain without power. This is the most time-consuming, labor intensive and complex part of service restoration."

The utility has estimated restoration times of tonight at 11:30 p.m. for all of Morris County's 129 outages.
