Swim Captains Start Petition For Chatham Coach

Frank DiGiacomo has won four state swim titles at Chatham since 2012

Chatham, NJ—The captains of the Chatham High School girls swim team have started a petition to reinstate coach Frank DiGiacomo who, according to the petition, was told on July 23 he would no longer be coaching at the school.

"Frank DiGiacomo’s recent termination came as a shock to many," the swimmers stated.

The petition claims the reason for Coach DiGiacomo's reported dismissal was unclear, but that it was possibly "because of a swimmer attendance issue."

Jill Weber, president of the Chatham school board, declined to comment, citing district policy.

The coach's resume includes four state titles in six appearances, seven sectional titles, and eight county titles, but the petition claims DiGiacomo is more than just a good coach.
