16-Year-Old Shot Gloucester Twp., Marlton Men, Police Say
The teen was arrested Tuesday night with a gun on him, authorities say.

A 16-year-old Burlington County resident was the triggerman in a shooting that killed Gloucester Township resident Lamar Ortiz and left a Marlton teen injured, the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office said.
The Edgewater Park teen now faces murder and attempted murder charges for firing numerous shots at the two men at Autumn Ridge Apartments on Little Gloucester Road Monday night.

When he was arrested Tuesday night, the unnamed 16-year-old had a handgun on him, prosecutor’s office spokesman Jason Laughlin said, and authorities said the Monday night shooting came about as a result of a robbery attempt.
Ortiz was shot multiple times and pronounced dead at a local hospital. The Marlton 18-year-old, who has yet to be identified, took a graze wound to the head in the shooting, authorities said.

The Edgewater Park teen is charged with murder, felony murder and attempted murder. He’s being held at Camden County Juvenile Detention Center.
