$8.9M Financing Deal, All-Star Tournaments Top Week Ahead
Also, the Cherry Hill township council will authorize repairs to a local icon.

Financing for a wide-ranging, $8.9 million energy savings plan, which includes new boilers at 16 schools and upgrades across the district, will get final consideration before Cherry Hill's school board Tuesday night at 7 p.m. at the Malberg administration building, after bids came back earlier this month.
The lease-purchase agreement that funds the project will be split into two phases, as outlined in this week's school board agenda, and will be financed at 1.16 percent interest in the first phase.
The energy savings plan was originally outlined this winter, then scaled back slightly in the spring, due in part to asbestos removal costs.
Cherry Hill's township council, meanwhile, will vote on authorizing emergency repairs to the Scarborough Covered Bridge, which was damaged in a car accident in late May, along with various other issues at its meeting Monday night at 7:30 p.m. at the municipal complex.
There's plenty going on outside of local government, too, especially when it comes to summer sports.
Softball's Carpenter Cup begins Monday in Philadelphia, including a history-making contribution from Cherry Hill West, and runs through Thursday. Locals on the Olympic-Colonial squad could play multiple times a day, depending on how they fare.
Later in the week, there's the Taliaferro Classic football game at Rowan University, where four players from Cherry Hill schools will represent on the White Team Thursday evening.
District 13 Little League action also heats up through the week, with Cherry Hill American and Cherry Hill Atlantic vying for a shot at moving on in the Majors division, which has pool play for the next two weeks before crowning a champion in the first week of July.
And if you're looking for something to do this weekend, check out the Cherry Hill Public Library's 2nd Annual Comic-Con, which runs from noon to 4 p.m. Saturday. Activities include everything from a cosplay pageant to a Lego tournament to a superhero obstacle course.
