Alleged Heroin Dealers Arrested in Marlton

Two men who frantically tried to hide drugs after being pulled over in Marlton Friday were arrested and charged with dealing heroin, Evesham Township Police said.

Brian Hearn, 32, and Joseph Christiansen, 33, both of Marlton, were spotted by officers conducting surveillance around Route 70 and Cropwell Road just after noon Friday, and were stopped shortly after that, police said.

The two men tried to conceal bags of heroin inside the car, police said, but were unsuccessful. A subsequent search turned up a total of 64 bags of heroin and an unspecified amount of cash, police said.

Hearn was charged with third-degree possession of heroin with the intent to distribute and third-degree possession of heroin, and also had a $20,549 child-support warrant out for his arrest in Ocean County. He was taken to the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $40,549 full cash bail.

Christiansen was charged with fourth-degree conspiracy to distribute heroin and third-degree possession of heroin, and was lodged in the Burlington County Jail in lieu of $5,000 bail.
