Alleged Shoplifter Left Merchandise, Fled Sephora, Police Say

Police are asking for the public's help in trying to identify the woman.

A woman who allegedly tried to shoplift hundreds of dollars’ worth of merchandise from a store in the Cherry Hill Mall last month escaped the grasp of a store employee and a shopper who tried to stop her, and Cherry Hill Police are asking for the public’s help in trying to identify the woman.

The alleged shoplifter walked into Sephora just before 4 p.m. on April 7, and in the course of going around the store, grabbed $228 worth of merchandise before trying to leave the store, police said.

That’s when another shopper and store employees tried to stop her, police said, but the woman was able to escape while leaving the merchandise behind.

She was wearing a white jacket and a Beatles T-shirt during the incident, police said, and was caught on surveillance video.
