Burglars Strike 5 Homes on West Side, Police Say

Burglars got away with jewelry and electronics, according to police.

Burglars struck five homes on the west side of the township in the last week, but only managed to steal items from three of them, Cherry Hill Police said.

In two cases, burglars were either scared off or couldn’t force their way in, police said—once on Wagon Lane around midnight July 1, where a homeowner checked out a suspicious noise and the burglars fled, and once in the 100 block of North Monroe Avenue on July 2, when burglars were unsuccessful in trying to bust in a back door.

The other three incidents were all reported July 2, though one of those could have occurred any time between June 28 and July 2, police said.

In that latter case, burglars broke in a back door and stole jewelry from a home in the 200 block of Redstone Ridge, police said.

The others were both daytime burglaries, police said. In one, burglars broke into a home in the unit block of Bryn Mawr Avenue and stole jewelry, and in the other, burglars broke into a home in the 600 block of Kenilworth Avenue and stole electronics, police said.

Those incidents come on top of a previously reported burglary on Lucerne Boulevard, where police said burglars stole a gun safe with at least seven guns inside.

All the incidents are currently under investigation.
