Camden Catholic Baseball Upsets Christian Brothers in Playoffs

The Irish go on the road for the first-round win.

Camden Catholic’s Colan Miller was one hit shy of a no-no, and the Irish got some timely hitting in the middle innings to win on the road against Christian Brothers Academy in the first round of the South Jersey, Non-Public A playoffs Sunday, 3-0.

Miller went a complete game, striking out eight while allowing just one hit and two walks, and Shawn Stone’s RBI single in the third would’ve been all the Irish needed to get the win.

Camden Catholic added two for insurance, though, getting an RBI double from Dom Messina and a sacrifice fly from Ben Acero in the fourth. The Irish capitalized on their chances, getting just three hits all game, with two driving in runs.
