Camden Catholic Wins Rain-Shortened Diamond Classic Opener

Rain wipes out the sixth inning, but the Irish get the victory.

The weather erased an inning, but Camden Catholic’s baseball team still had enough of a lead to be declared the winner in a rain-shortened Diamond Classic win over Williamstown Saturday.

The Irish had scored five runs in the sixth when rains moved in at Overbrook, and officials wiped out the inning and called it as of the end of the fifth, with a 10-3 lead turning into a 5-3 victory.

Camden Catholic’s Colan Miller got the pitching victory, scattering five hits. The Irish got doubles from Joe Craig, Albert Faiola and Christian Bilan.
