Cell Phone Violation Leads to Heroin Bust, Police Say

The following information was provided by the Evesham Township Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A Medford man found out the hard way it’s a bad idea to allegedly break cell phone laws while driving, Evesham Township Police said.

John Dusak, 22, wasn’t just talking on his phone when pulled over on Route 70 on Sept. 8—he also had several baggies of heroin on him, police said.

Dusak also had numerous throwing knives in the car, police said, leading to multiple charges.

After being arrested, Dusak was charged with third-degree possession of heroin and third-degree possession of  a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

He was released on his own recognizance.
