Cherry Hill Dog Park Opens At Croft Farm

CHERRY HILL, NJ — The Cherry Hill Dog Park at Croft Farm is now open, township officials announced on Thursday. It is nestled in the wooded area next to Croft Farm’s gravel parking lot.

“I’d like to thank everyone who helped make this dream a reality for dog owners throughout Cherry Hill,” Mayor Susan Shin Angulo said. “I am thrilled to see residents and their dogs enjoying all that it has to offer.”

The dog park features both fenced-in wooded trails and open spaces for dogs to explore across a full acre. A grand opening to celebrate the dog park will take place in September.

“This park is a wonderful addition to the already excellent amenities available at Croft Farm and throughout the township,” Council President David Fleisher said. “I can’t wait for neighbors to join me and our dog Rosie to enjoy the beautiful trails and outdoor spaces, and I’m looking forward to celebrating this success with the community in September during our official grand opening.”

The amenities at the park include separate fenced-in areas for large dogs and small dogs. Cherry Hill defines small dogs as those that weigh 25 pounds or less.

There’s also a covered pavilion, picnic tables, water fountains, and a waste station. The park is located across from Camden County’s Challenge Grove Park and Jake’s Place, an all-inclusive playground.

“Having open, green spaces available for residents to enjoy is more important now than ever. That’s why I am so appreciative of Camden County Commissioner Jeff Nash and the entire Board of Commissioners’ support for this project,” Councilwoman Sangeeta Doshi said. “As a result of this team effort with the Mayor and Council, dog owners now have a great new option to ensure their canine friends get plenty of exercise and playtime. My 7-year-old husky Nala is already a big fan.”

The dog park and trail enhancement costs were offset using a $25,000 grant from Camden County’s Open Space Trust Fund and a portion of a $100,000 Camden County Multi-Use Trail grant. Money for the covered pavilion was donated by the Peggy Spiegler Melanoma Research Foundation.

Ahead of the grand opening, Shin Angulo and Cherry Hill Council invite residents to share pictures of their best friends exploring the new Township destination with the hashtag #CHilldogs.
