Cherry Hill East Baseball Falls to Seneca [Photos]
The Cougars staged a comeback that came up just short in extra innings.
Down two runs much of the game against Seneca, Cherry Hill East's baseball team rallied to tie it up in the sixth and sent the game to extra innings Monday, but fell in the eighth, 3-2.
John Hansen singled to drive in teammate Jordan Friedman in a wild bottom of the sixth and give the Cougars the chance to come away with victory. Nick DellaVecchia's strikeout ended the sixth-inning rally, and East only managed one baserunner over the final two innings.
In the top of the eighth, Seneca got Greg Santora aboard, then John Maurer smashed the game-winning double off East's Matt Mozzillo, who had come on in relief of Kyle Bigley.
