Cherry Hill Man Appointed To State Bar School Law Committee

John J. Mulholland Jr., Esq, a resident of Cherry Hill, NJ, has been appointed to the New Jersey State Bar Association’s School Law Committee. The School Law Committee monitors developments in education law, provides update of same, and recommends modifications to education law-related regulations.

Mulholland is the Executive Director at ASAH. Based in Hamilton Square NJ, ASAH is a membership organization of nearly 130 New Jersey state approved private special education schools that serve public school students at no cost to parents. Mulholland has served in a variety of leadership roles in New Jersey government, both in the Murphy administration and in the New Jersey Legislature. Most recently, he served as Director of the Governor’s Office of Constituent Relations, having previously served as Outreach Director, Director of Public Policy & Legislative Counsel and Chief of Staff for several South Jersey legislators. In 2020, Insider NJ named him a “Millennial to Watch” and South Jersey Biz included him on their annual “20 Under 40” list for 2021. He also serves as an active member of the Cherry Hill Township Board of Fire Commissioners.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to be at the table for conversations about policy changes and the practice of education law,” said Mulholland. “My work in the area of private special education will bring a unique perspective to the committee, and to bring the voices of families of children with complex needs to the discussion.”

John received his Bachelor of Arts in both Political Science and History with a Certificate in Political Economy, Summa Cum Laude, from Temple University. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Temple University James E. Beasley School of Law. He was named a fellow in the Rubin Public Interest Law Honor Society for his commitment to public service and his significant volunteerism. He completed a Peggy Browning Fellowship with the United Mine Workers of America, and a Conwell Community Corps Fellowship with Community Legal Services of Philadelphia. He is licensed to practice law in both New Jersey and Pennsylvania.
